Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects a person’s ability to maintain focus, regulate attention, and manage impulsive behaviors. Individuals with ADHD may feel restless, have difficulty sitting still, and display a strong need for movement and activity.
While ADHD is often identified during childhood or adolescence, symptoms can persist into adulthood and may contribute to challenges with organization, task completion, and impulse control. Many adults also seek evaluation after recognizing long-standing patterns that have impacted their daily functioning.

Symptoms
Symptoms of ADHD can vary from person to person, but common signs include:
- Difficulty staying focused during tasks or conversations
- Trouble completing assignments, projects, or responsibilities
- Becoming easily sidetracked
- Challenges with organization or time management
- Frequently misplacing important items
- Being easily distracted by external stimuli or internal thoughts
- Forgetfulness in daily routines
- Appearing not to listen when spoken to directly
- Fidgeting, squirming, or difficulty sitting still
- Feeling restless or constantly “on the go”
- Trouble engaging quietly in activities
- Excessive talking
- Interrupting others, blurting out answers, or struggling to wait one’s turn
Having some of these symptoms does not automatically mean a person has ADHD. Children often display high levels of energy or distractibility as part of normal development. For this reason, we take great care in reviewing medical history, developmental patterns, academic or work performance, and behavioral concerns before establishing a diagnosis.
Treatment
Our approach to ADHD centers on understanding the whole person — not just their symptoms. Treatment plans are individualized and may include:
- Medication management (stimulants, non-stimulants, or antidepressants when appropriate)
- Psychotherapy and behavioral strategies
- Cognitive and executive-function support
- Stress-management and coping techniques
- Collaboration with schools, family members, or other healthcare providers when helpful
Our goal is to support each patient in improving focus, emotional regulation, daily functioning, and quality of life.
